✨ Parent Portal Registration: User-Defined Fields & Medical Information (🚧Jackrabbit Labs) - 02/12/26

❓ What is changing?

Portal Registration in Jackrabbit Labs now supports:

  • Family- and Student-level User-Defined Fields (UDFs)

  • Medical fields collected during registration

UDFs configured in your existing settings are now embedded directly into the registration flow. Family-level fields appear at the start of registration, and Student-level fields appear during the Add Student step.

All data entered during registration is saved directly to the appropriate Family and Student records (Misc tabs), just as if it were entered from within the system.

The registration flow respects your existing Parent Portal settings for required, optional, or hidden fields.

💡 Why did Jackrabbit make this change?

Earlier versions of the new Portal Registration flow had limited support for User-Defined Fields and certain visibility settings. As a result, some required information needed to be gathered outside of the registration process.

Embedding UDFs and medical fields into registration helps ensure critical information is captured during sign-up, reducing manual follow-up and improving data consistency.

🛠️ What do I need to do?

Head over to Jackrabbit Labs (Gear icon > Settings) and opt in to Portal Registration.

Review your existing User-Defined Field settings (Gear icon > Settings > Parent Portal > Settings tab) to confirm required, optional, and visibility rules. Once you've opted in to Portal Registration, the Parent Portal will enforce those settings during registration.
