By Session Dates billing - Class and Session dates

Objective

Understand how Session date ranges affect tuition posting when using the By Session Dates billing cycle.

Solution

When a class uses the By Session Dates billing cycle, Jackrabbit uses the Session start and end dates to determine whether tuition fees should post.

For tuition posting to occur, the class start and end dates must fall within the selected Session’s date range.

The following settings work together when using By Session Dates billing:

  • Session Start and End dates - defined in the Drop-down List Editor
  • Class Start Date and End Date - defined on the Summary tab of the Class record
  • Tuition Billing Cycle - defined on the Summary tab of the Class record

If class dates fall outside the Session date range, the class is not recognized as part of the Session for tuition posting calculations.

This can affect:

  • tuition posting during online enrollment
  • tuition batch posting
  • tuition posting automations
