Student & Family Fixed Fees - An Overview

Student and Family Fixed Fees allow you to override Jackrabbit's standard tuition calculations and charge a predetermined tuition amount during Post Tuition Fees. Fixed Fees are designed for unique tuition arrangements that can't be accommodated by your organization's standard tuition settings or discount rules.

There are two types of Fixed Fees:

  • Family Fixed Fees apply one fixed tuition amount to an entire family.
  • Student Fixed Fees apply a fixed tuition amount to an individual student.

🚀 Get started with Fixed Fees

  • Ensure your UserID has the View Family Page and View Student Page permissions to view and manage Fixed Fees.

  • Student Fixed Fees are assigned from the Summary tab of the Student record.

  • Family Fixed Fees are assigned from the Billing Info tab of the Family record.

  • Determine whether the tuition arrangement should apply to an individual student or the entire family before creating a Fixed Fee.

  • Fixed Fees are used when posting tuition through Post Tuition Fees.

📋 How Fixed Fees work

  • A Student Fixed Fee or Family Fixed Fee is assigned to the corresponding record.

  • During Post Tuition Fees, Jackrabbit posts the Fixed Fee amount instead of calculating tuition using class fees, billing methods, discount rules, or prorating.

  • Each Fixed Fee creates its own tuition transaction.

  • A tuition arrangement should use either a Student Fixed Fee or a Family Fixed Fee. If both exist for the same student, Jackrabbit posts both Fixed Fees, resulting in two tuition transactions.

  • Fixed Fees can include an expiration date. Once the expiration date has passed, Jackrabbit ignores the Fixed Fee during tuition posting and resumes normal tuition calculations.
