Multi-class discount calculations when posting tuition

Objective

Understand how Include all classes when calculating multi-class discounts affects multi-class discount calculations during Post Tuition Fees.

Solution

When posting tuition fees, the Include all classes when calculating multi-class discounts option determines which Classes are counted when calculating multi-class discounts.

When the option is selected

  • All active Classes are included in the multi-class discount calculation, even if they do not match the selected posting settings or criteria.
  • Jackrabbit uses the total tuition from all eligible Classes to determine the highest and lowest tuition amounts when calculating multi-class and multi-student discounts.
  • Classes assigned the No Discounts Discount Rule are always excluded from the calculation.

When the option is cleared

  • Only the Classes that match the selected posting settings and criteria are included in the multi-class discount calculation.
  • Classes outside the selected posting criteria are ignored when determining discount eligibility.

Example

An organization has two active Sessions but is posting tuition for only one Session.

  • If Include all classes when calculating multi-class discounts is selected, Classes from both Sessions are included when determining the student's multi-class discount.
  • If the option is cleared, only the Classes in the Session being posted are included in the calculation.

This setting is available in the Additional Settings section of the Post Tuition Fees workflow.
