Registration Fees - Detect Registration Fees posted after

Objective

Understand how Detect Registration Fees posted after identifies previously posted Registration Fees and prevents additional fees from posting.

Solution

Detect Registration Fees posted after sets a cutoff date Jackrabbit uses to identify Registration Fees already posted for a Student or Family and determine whether additional Registration Fees should be posted. How previously posted fees are evaluated depends on whether Registration Fees are posted per student, per family, or per student per class.

Registration Fees posted per student or per family

When Registration Fees are posted per student or per family, Jackrabbit prevents a new Registration Fee from posting when it finds a previous fee that matches:

  • The same Student ID or Family ID, based on the posting method.
  • The same Transaction Type.
  • A transaction date after the Detect Registration Fees posted after date.

Registration Fees posted per student per class

When Registration Fees are posted per student per class, detection works with the optional Maximum Per Family setting.

Jackrabbit considers previously posted Registration Fees that match:

  • The same Family ID.
  • The same Transaction Type.
  • A transaction date after the Detect Registration Fees posted after date.

These previously posted fees count toward the Maximum Per Family amount and prevent additional Registration Fees from posting beyond that maximum.

If no maximum is defined, all applicable Registration Fees are posted.

How maximum fees affect posting

When a maximum fee is defined for per-student or per-student-per-class posting, Jackrabbit continues posting Registration Fees until the maximum is reached.

If the full amount of the final Registration Fee would exceed the maximum, Jackrabbit can post a partial fee to reach the maximum amount.

What happens when no cutoff date is entered?

If Detect Registration Fees posted after is left blank, Jackrabbit does not consider previously posted Registration Fees when calculating additional fees to post. All applicable Registration Fees are posted.

Student and Family IDs

Jackrabbit uses Student ID and Family ID to identify matching Students and Families during detection. These IDs are automatically generated by Jackrabbit or added during data import and are displayed in the lower-left footer of the corresponding Student or Family record.
