Appointments - double bookings after room assignment change
Objective
Understand why appointments may allow double bookings after updating the room assignment on an Appointment Type.
Solution
This behavior occurs when the Room Association on an Appointment Type is changed from a specific room (e.g., Studio 1 to Main Studio or N/A) after bookings have already been created.
When the original booking was created, it was tied to a specific room. Existing appointments retain the original room assignment they were created with; changes to the Appointment Type do not update existing bookings.
If you do need to edit an Appointment Type with existing bookings, you will need to cancel those booked appointments and re-enroll the students accordingly into the new Appointment Type to avoid potential overbookings.
