Parents unable to schedule makeups in the Parent Portal due to Makeup Similarity Rules
Issue/Question
We have some classes that are not allowing makeups to be scheduled in the parent portal, how do we fix this?
Resolution
There are many possible reasons that makeup classes may not be showing as available in the Parent Portal when going to schedule.Â
One thing that can cause this is when Makeup Similarity Rules are not in agreement with class settings. For example, makeup classes may not appear in the Parent Portal for certain classes if the Same Age Range rule is active.Â
This setting requires an exact match between the age range of the student's current class and the potential makeup class. If a class has a unique age range that no other class shares, the Portal will not display any makeup options.
To review your settings:
Go to the Gear icon > Settings > General
Select Organization Defaults, then scroll down to Makeup Class Similarity Rules
Review the Same Age Range setting status to see if it is restricting matches
