Why receipts show incorrect charges

Receipts that are emailed are showing her current charges as a month behind.

Resolution


By default, Jackrabbit typically links payments to the oldest outstanding fee first (or based on your selected criteria). If an account has older unapplied credits or unpaid fees that were never linked to newer fees, it can cause a mismatch in the expected payment receipt details. This may result in a new payment linking to those previous balances rather than the most recent charges.

To ensure your receipts reflect the current billing cycle, follow this recommended workflow:

  1. Go to Transactions > Post Tuition Fees to post fees for your current cycle

  2. Next, go to Transactions > Find Unapplied Credits, run this process to apply unapplied credits or past payments to any outstanding balances

  3. Lastly, go to Transactions > Process ePayments.  Payments will now link to the remaining balances in the order you select (typically oldest first)

Following these steps in order ensures that receipts accurately show the fee transactions linked to that specific payment.
