How to unlock my User ID account after failed login attempts

How long is your account locked when you get locked out from failed password attempts?

Resolution


Users of the main account only get 3 attempts to log in with their information.  A user account remains locked indefinitely until specific action is taken to unlock it. There are two ways to restore access:

  • Self-Service: Click Forgot Password on the main login page to reset it yourself.
  • Administrator Help: A staff member with the correct permissions can go to Gear > Settings > Users & Permissions, click the locked User ID, and select Restore User ID.
Pro-Tip for Shared Devices

If you use a public or shared work device, ensure browser auto-fill is disabled. This prevents someone else's saved credentials from triggering a lockout. If you have two failed attempts, it's safest to use the "Forgot Password" link immediately to avoid a full lockout.
