User ID lockouts - Failed login attempts

Objective


Understand what happens when a User ID is locked due to failed login attempts.

Solution


A User ID is locked after three unsuccessful login attempts.

Once locked, the User ID remains locked until it is restored by one of the following methods:

  • Use the Forgot Password link on the login page to reset the password and restore access. 
  • Have a User with the appropriate permissions restore the User ID from Gear > Settings > Users & Permissions by selecting the locked User ID and clicking Restore User ID.

If using a shared device, consider disabling browser autofill to prevent saved credentials from causing unintended login attempts and account lockouts.
