Add a non-monetary credit to a Family account

Objective


Add a credit to a family account to reduce their balance without recording a monetary payment, for example, for scholarships or balance write-offs.

Solution


Non-monetary credits can be applied using the Payment/Credit button in the Family record. 

  1. Go the the Family record.
  2. Click the Payment/Credit button.
  3. In the Payment/Credit Transaction Entry window:
    • select a credit Transaction Type* other than Payment, e.g. Non-monetary Credit or Scholarship Credit.

      and
    • select a Method*, such as Non-monetary Credit or Balance Write-Off.
  4. Enter the credit amount in the Payment field.
  5. Optional: Apply the credit to fees.
  6. Click Save Payment.

*️⃣Drop-down List values can be customized in the General Settings.

❗Revenue reports in Jackrabbit do not include non-monetary credits as revenue.
