Understand how the Gender field can be configured and what options exist for collecting self-described gender information.

Solution

The Gender field allows you to manage predefined options, but does not support free-text entry.

You can:

• Add Gender drop-down list values.
• Hide the Gender field if you do not want to collect this information.

You cannot:

• Allow users to enter free-text responses directly in the Gender field.

ℹ️Tip: To collect self-described gender, use a custom field. Create a Student User-Defined Field to allow free-text entry during registration.
