Set up a Party Type to collect a deposit at booking

A client would like to pay a deposit now for a party and the remaining balance later. How can I set this up?

Deposit requirements are set on the party type and apply to new bookings. Existing bookings can’t be updated to require a deposit.

To create a party type with a deposit due at booking:

Go to Activities > Parties.
Select Create > Type.
Enter the Party Type details.
In the Pricing section, enter the Total Party Fee and Deposit amount.
Select Post Fee and Payment Due at Portal Booking boxes (if you want the deposit posted and paid in the Parent Portal).
Click Save Party Type.
