Create a Discount Rule

Objective

Create a Combination Discount Rule to apply both Multi-Class and Multi-Student discounts.

Solution

Create a Combination Discount Rule from the Manage Rules page in the Tuition & Discounting settings. Combination Discount Rules allow a Class to apply both Multi-Class and Multi-Student discounts because only one Discount Rule can be assigned to a Class.

  1. Go to Gear > Settings > Tuition & Discounting.
  2. In the Manage Your Discount Rules section, click Manage Rules
  3. Click + Add New Rule
  4. Enter a Tuition Discount Rule Name
  5. Under What type of rule is this?, select A combination of both
  6. Choose how the rule should determine Discount Eligibility:
    • Give both discounts, or
    • Give only multi-class discounts; only give multi-student discounts when multi-class doesn't apply.
  7. Configure the Multi-Class Discount settings:
    • Select how the discount should be applied.
    • Choose whether the discount is a Dollar amount or a Percentage.
    • Enter the discount values.
    • Select the order in which discounts are applied.
  8. Configure the Multi-Student Discount settings:
    • Select how the discount should be applied.
    • Choose whether the discount is a Dollar amount or a Percentage.
    • Enter the discount values.
    • Select the order in which discounts are applied.
  9. Click Save Changes.

After saving the Tuition Discount Rule, if using Percentage-based Multi-Student discounts, select whether the percentage is applied to the original tuition amount or after the Multi-Class discount has been deducted.
