I would like to provide an option for self-description with the ability to enter their gender. The gender drop-down doesn't allow me to add more than 30 characters. What options do I have?

The built-in Gender field lets you add or remove dropdown options (for example, adding “Other”), or you can hide the Gender field entirely if you don’t want to collect it at all. One limitation to be aware of is that this field doesn’t support free-text self-description beyond the dropdown list. If you’d like families to self-describe in their own words, the best option is to add a custom registration field using Student User-Defined Fields.
